Twisted Land Company is a land services firm with more than 50 years of combined experience, built on integrity, transparency, and leadership. We’re committed to ethical and sustainable practices that raise the standard for our industry.
Our story began in 2000, when President and Founder Candice Crutchfield started pulling title for a local oilman while still in high school. What began as an early introduction to the land business grew into a career spanning three decades across multiple sectors of the energy industry.
Over the years, Candice has led major M&A audits—including CHK/Expand–Access Midstream—managed more than ten title teams at a time, and played a direct role in right-of-way acquisition across renewables, oil & gas, midstream, transmission, and high-speed rail projects. From Boardwalk Pipeline to Oryx Midstream, Oxley, Meade, PEC, Devon, and Continental, Candice has walked the miles herself—serving as an agent, Title Supervisor, Crew Chief, and now CEO—always grounded in the principles of land stewardship, trust, and accountability.
Together with Erika Sackey, an accomplished executive and Twisted Land Company’s Director of Corporate Services, the two founded Twisted Land Company with a clear purpose: to bring accountability, transparency, and a hands-on approach back to land services. Candice and Erika built a firm focused on precision, strong client partnerships, and results-driven project execution.
As the company grew, so did the leadership supporting its operations.
Christine Bruce, who joined Twisted Land Company in 2025 and now serves as Director of Operations, leads document control, workflow coordination, and operational support across active projects. With a background in ROW documentation, compliance, and project reporting, she has played a key role in strengthening internal processes—establishing quality assurance standards, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the timely delivery of critical project materials.
Following a successful joint venture between Twisted Land Company and Pony Land Services in 2023, Casey Ballenger’s collaboration with the team quickly proved to be a natural fit. By February 2025, he officially joined the company and, within months, advanced to Director of Projects. With more than 25 years of right-of-way and project management experience, Casey has led complex initiatives for clients including EOG, Oncor, MPLX, and Apex Clean Energy. His ability to navigate regulatory environments, manage teams in the field, and deliver results under demanding timelines continues to strengthen Twisted Land Company’s reputation across the industry.
From due diligence to project closeout, our team approaches every project with the same mindset: no detail goes unchecked. Our work has supported leading organizations across the energy and infrastructure sectors, including Oxley, Meade, CHK (now Expand), Access, DORAL, Eurofins, RWE Clean Energy, Sigma Renewables, Midway Energy Partners, Oriden (a Mitsubishi company), PEC, Devon, EOG, Koch, MPLX, Apex Clean Energy, Oncor, and Continental.
